Dr. Maimounah Hebi. Postdoctoral researcher. Art therapist with a PhD from the University of Haifa
I am an art therapist with a PhD from the University of Haifa, where my doctoral research delved into emotion processing, examining the complex interplay between physical and psychological symptoms and their relationship with cultural values among breast cancer survivors.
My broader research interests include exploring how different emotions influence health and how various cultures navigate emotional experiences. Currently, I am a postdoctoral Erasmus fellow at the Affective Psychology Department at ELTE University, at the Neuropsychology Laboratory Team. My current research focuses on the role of art therapy in emotion processing, particularly in enhancing emotional regulation, flexibility, resilience, and stress reduction. I place a special emphasis on the cultural sensitivity of this therapeutic approach and its broad applications across diverse populations.
