Emotional Images: A validation study

Existing affective image databases in the field of psychology are not always appropriate in some studies. In the research field of emotions, this type of stimulus is widely and reliably used. Recognized and respected databases such as the International Affective Picture System (IAPS) and Open Affective Standardized Image Set (OASIS) are vital for such research field, however, some parameters still lack, such as a considerable number of images containing social daily situations, or high-quality images.

Our EMIND research group is heavily oriented on affective research, and from our previous studies, the available images in the psychology field were not completely fulfilling our research goals. And as we need valid images for reliable research results, we are currently developing our validated image database. Therefore, the aim of this study is to validate a set of images to be used in academic research in affective psychology.
